I’m not really that knowledgeable about cars. Sure, I know how to drive, when to change oil, how to check the water, oil, and tires… but other than those, I wouldn’t be able to tell if your car has original Ferrari parts or not.
Then I found during our company outing last Saturday that one of my colleagues is into drag racing. After several minutes of prying, he said something that confirmed my friend Mark’s statement after winning our first ever kart trak race: simulated race games in arcade are actually a good way to train yourself for a racing. The main principle is there. He furthered that if you don’t have a lot of dough to keep changing your tires every after a race, a kart trak racing is a good way to go.
My colleague recommended the arcade game “Battle Gear” should I decide to play a simulated game. He said it’s the closest to the actual racing environment. Fascinating. And I used to think arcade games are just for de-stressing yourself.

Justin is a friend of mine who is addicted to skateboarding, he’s had his fair share of accidents, so I recommended him to get a Rochester personal injury lawyer since I thought it was a smart thing to do, and indeed it was.
His accidents weren’t only because of skateboarding, he also had injuries because of dog bites, car accidents and stuff. I’ve always pitied him for being unlucky, but yeah. He’s practicing on being more careful now, and I’m glad.

Did you know that Netbooks are not considered by resellers as “computer products”? Yeah, although you can find a lot of these products in computer stores, Netbooks are just considered as Consumer Electronics – similar to celphones, pda’s and ipods. So what if they are just consumer electronics? Well, by considering these as just electronics, their warranty will be limited to just a year, unlike PC’s which have three years warranty.
This is not to discourage those who consider getting netbooks
. They are cheap, efficient, and very useful especially if you’re on the go. Warranty will only matter if the device is damaged. Personally, a year warranty is more than enough anyway because newer models are introduced every month. For sure, no one will intend to use a Netbook for a span of 3 years.

Last week, I was requested to work overtime to do some upgrade in the network. Again, the office is expanding so a lot of new PC’s were set up. There were also a lot of upgrades done with the older PC’s – upgraded from 15 to 22 inch LCD monitors.
Since the 15 inch LCD’s were still working, the company auctioned them. The most of the employees bought at least two because of the cheap price. So what will I do with an old 15 inch monitor? Hehe. I used it as a digital frame
.
I removed the stand and mounted the LCD to the wall. I used my old Pentium PC to connect to it and display the tons of pictures that I haven’t been able to print. It turned out so nicely. I bragged about what I did to my officemates the next day. To my surprise, my colleagues also did the same thing with their LCD’s.

I was studying for almost 6 hours. I had an exam last week and now I’m preparing for the last one. My brain was slowly trying to eat itself and I was getting extremely exhausted. Then my aunt went to my room and asked if I can make a detour for her. She asked me to check out the best diet pills on the market. Tired of all the lessons I had to review, I decided to stop and go over her diet pills. Without even getting to the third pill, I gave up and said that I needed to crash. I was sleep deprived and reading some more might actually create a permanent damage to my head.

I did some window-shopping yesterday to help my friend get a new laptop. We stepped in several stores and saw a lot of interesting new laptop features – face recognition, hand gesture recognition, voice command, etc. Interesting yes, but not really useful. They maybe good for bragging but who would want to wave around his hand in Starbucks just to open media player anyway. Besides, she’s no CIA to need a retina scan just to log in. And for 1.5k USD, I’ll just get her a Mac. And so that’s what we did.
We went to the Mac store and tried out several of their new Macbooks. We also tried their new ipods
which are slimmer and more stylish. My friend is a graphics artist so she wanted a laptop with good graphics capabilities. We were amazed on how great Photoshop runs in Mac. She was even more surprised when the salesperson said that they are giving away 2 free Nano’s if we purchased a Macbook within their promo period. And so after much testing, she finally decided to buy it. Hehe. Of course she gave me one the free Ipod Nano’s she got for free. Yipee!

Last night Tom, Anna and I decided to do a study group at a café down the street. Reviewing for an exam can really squeeze our brains off. After three hours of gruesome studying we decided to take a break. As we were buying coffee over the counter we started talking all kinds of stuff, ephedrine, South Africa children with aids, Prince Harry, Global Warming, and etc. I guess no matter how much we wanted to rest our brain from thinking; it will never be scientifically possible. So we talked for two straight hours about almost everything then we decided to get back to studying. And after 6 hours of being at each other’s faces we came to a decision that we needed sleep more than these hot drinks for tom. So yes, it’s exam week. Good grief.
