Yesterday afternoon a friend called me to help her installing a new biometric system in their office. The system consists of the main biometric scanner, a switch, and lots of cables. The problem with it was, only the driver is included. There was no software interface for the biometric so we had to program it by ourselves. The problem with it is, it did not have instructions on interfacing with our current KVM switches. We were up till 2 am but decided to just continue later.
Last night felt like we were back in college doing our technical thesis. It’s like we were supposed to do something but we had no idea how to do it. It was fun actually. We were laughing our hearts out while figuring out how to configure the system. I hope we finish it by tomorrow. Otherwise we’ll call for support from suppliers.
