I did some window-shopping yesterday to help my friend get a new laptop. We stepped in several stores and saw a lot of interesting new laptop features – face recognition, hand gesture recognition, voice command, etc. Interesting yes, but not really useful. They maybe good for bragging but who would want to wave around his hand in Starbucks just to open media player anyway. Besides, she’s no CIA to need a retina scan just to log in. And for 1.5k USD, I’ll just get her a Mac. And so that’s what we did.

We went to the Mac store and tried out several of their new Macbooks. We also tried their new ipods
which are slimmer and more stylish. My friend is a graphics artist so she wanted a laptop with good graphics capabilities. We were amazed on how great Photoshop runs in Mac. She was even more surprised when the salesperson said that they are giving away 2 free Nano’s if we purchased a Macbook within their promo period. And so after much testing, she finally decided to buy it. Hehe. Of course she gave me one the free Ipod Nano’s she got for free. Yipee!
