One time or another, you probably have experienced acne breakouts. This is one of the annoyances especially in the teen years. Typically it appears in the face but can also appear on the arms, shoulders, and back. Several myths exist about acne. Some say it is caused by dirt that clogs the pores. Others say that it is caused by too much chocolates and peanuts. As dirt and too much oily food may contribute to acne, these are not the true cause of acne. Scientific studies proved that acne is caused by different kinds of bacteria that may trigger allergic reaction on the skin. The reactions are hereditary which makes acne itself as a genetic trait.

Just recently, a friend of mine tried an FDA approved therapeutic treatment for acne. Just google for blue acne light. Anyhow, the treatment is non invasive and there are no expensive creams involved. Instead, a high intensity blue light is used to kill the bacteria residing inside the pores. I still haven’t seen the results but my friend told me that after a few sessions her acne was reduced to fifty percent.

There are also other treatments that involved exposing the skin to some high frequency pulses but the idea is basically the same. Kill the bacteria and rid the acne.
