While having dinner after work, my friend and I debated on which is more efficient – getting a condo, an apartment, or your own house? After about an hour, he brought up the concept manufactured homes. My mind went, “Huh?”

Apparently, there are many types of structures that are built in the factory and designed for long-term residential use, such as Manufactured, Modular, Panelized, Pre-Cut, and Mobile Homes. In general, for manufactured and modular homes, units are first built in a factory, then transported to the site and installed. For panelized and pre-cut homes, essentially flat subassemblies are transported to the site and assembled. Fantastic, aren’t they?

Still, although those types of houses are constructed entirely in a controlled factory environment and are built to meet federal guidelines and safety standards, if you’re going to have your own house built, might as well go for the gold – your very own design. There’s nothing more heartwarming than seeing your own conceptualization materialize into your very own house, don’t ya think? 0:D
