Ever wondered why you don’t look like either of your parents? Did it ever occur to you that perhaps, you are were adopted and you’re really a huge conglomerate Heiress? Or is actually next in line to Queen Elizabeth, and should be living as a Princess (Well, okay fine, the latter’s quite far fetched, although that would definitely have been awesome! Hehehe…)?
Well, thanks to advancements in technology, there is such a thing as ancestry dna that can help you find out more about your heritage. There are two types of DNA ancestry testing: Maternal Lineage (mtDNA) and Paternal Lineage (Y-STR) Testing. According to what I’ve read, by examining the Y chromosome (passed from parents to children relatively unchanged through many generations) or the mtDNA (passed from a mother to all her children), our paternal and maternal history could be traced as far back as the first peoples who populated the earth.
Amazing, huh? Then again, do keep in mind that these type of tests can be costly. So, am I a Princess? I’ll have to save up first then let you know. 0;)
