Mr. John Smith is a well-respected teacher. It is part of his teaching technique to bring his students in one of the San Diego Bars. He believes in the adage of Joseph Campbell that, “The job of an educator is to teach students to see vitality in themselves.”
According to Mr. Smith, teaching should not be confined in the four walls of the classroom. Students should see for themselves the realities of life and be exposed to situations such as the nightlife at San Diego bars. While at the bar, Mr. Smith makes sure that his students will be able to point out specific happenings during the night that leads to learning. As an evaluation, the following day students are tasked to submit a reaction paper on the subject, “Nightlife at San Diego Bars.” Mr. Smith has proven several times that students learn better through experience, such as bringing them out of the classroom.
