Last Monday I bought a Belkin 150N router and set up a wireless internet at home. I upgraded my DSL connection to 3 Mbps and wanted to convert the wired networking to wireless in order to reduce the clutter in the house. Unfortunately, the router was faulty so I returned it for a new Belkin. Again the router was faulty, this time, I did a research on the net to find out if other users are also experiencing similar problems. I was so stressed with the setup that I needed to use my acne treatment creams to reduce the breakouts I had.

As it turns out, Belkin (a US brand) may have been the best brand in networking before but now it is one of the notorious brands in the IT industry. Most of it’s products are faulty, and even a friend of mine who used to work for Belkin technical support agreed. It’s so depressing that the brand I used to recommend to clients is the worst brand now. I immediately head back to the computer store where I bought the item and I asked for a better brand. I got the Linksys wireless N router, China brand, and it performed quite well. It’s just ironic that the Belkin was designed in the US yet it was useless.
