Learning and Education Blog

About

This is a learning and education blog that tackles subjects that are related to, but not exclusive of, learning, education, personal growth, spirituality, literature, arts, society, school, books, and living.

Last year there was the high lead content found in toothpaste made in China. Then there was the melamin scare in milk products (also from China) that caused the banning of some milk based products. Recently, there was this salmonella leak in peanut butter from the US. And what’s worse… all of the companies responsible are large companies with reputable brands!

So this got me thinking, now how do we choose which products are still safe when the companies we trust fail to give us safe and quality products? We used to rely on brands, FDA approvals, and ISO when we choose the best products, but now it’s impossible to know if the good brands can still be trusted. And how about the smaller companies? God knows what they put in their products.

I just hope there are still companies out there who care more about health and safety of their clients rather than their profit. Especially now that the internet is infested with ads about anything from weight loss products to health supplements. I’ll appreciate comments you give on this. Thanks.
