On printing my new business cards

February 19th, 2010

I was recently promoted to a higher position in the company so I needed to change my business cards because I always need them for clients. Since most people are busy in the company, I decided to just make my own business card. Our log designer is usually the one in charge for this but since I am not doing anything much (for now) I worked my way in Adobe Illustrator. It was the first time I used it and now I can conclude that… I suck at it! hahaha.

I’m an intermediate user in photoshop but Illustrator is a lot different. All those concepts about vectors just don’t register in my head. Anyhow, what I did was just get the softcopy of my old business card and looked for a business card printing shop in the mall. I just asked them to update my position, department and contact details. Voila! It took them just 30 minutes to print a hundred cards and no sweat coming from me. hehe.

SkinID - just a marketing scheme

February 19th, 2010

You probably may have heard about the hype about the newest product introduced by Neutrogena - skin id. Apparently, this new line of skin products are designed specifically for different skin products. There is a Skin ID matched to a certain type of skin so all you need to do is run their skin test to determine your type. However, Looking into these products, we found out that they are no different from the other anti-acne products. SkinID has the same ingredients like benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. The only difference is their concentration in the formula. It seems to me that this is just more of a marketing scheme that the real thing.

This line of products are very expensive considering that there are alternatives that offer the same results. Consumers must be wise in choosing our products and we must not always look for the branded ones.

Detoxifying to prevent acne

February 18th, 2010

Until now, even with scientific medical advancements, the definite cause of acne is still unknown. Some say it’s because of oily skin while others say it’s genetic. But all doctors will agree that acne is caused by toxins - different kinds of them. This is the reason why not all acne treatments work for all acne conditions and this is what acne products reviews are for.Dealing with acne takes a lot of patience and discipline. While some dermatologist might suggest harsh treatments, others suggest the natural way - DETOXIFICATION. It makes sense right? When your body is free from toxins then nothing will trigger acne anymore. There are plenty of ways to detoxify. Water Therapy, Cleansing Diet, Oxygen Therapy and Hot flow Yoga are just some ways. Just choose what’s best for you. Also, a relaxed lifestyle and enough sleep also helps in detoxifying the body. It might help to do some relaxing activities to get your mind out of stressful things.

Nowadays, with people finally learning the importance of SEO to gain traffic or visitors for their website, services such as the directory submission service are becoming popular as well.

In my company, we’ve been having more and more client inquiries asking about directory and article submissions. The only problem is that they are not that knowledgeable about that field and keeps insisting on having something done that’s completely the opposite of improving their website.

Whenever this happens, I basically just ask the client what the website’s goals are, then tell him/her I’ll email him/her recommendations on how to go about solving the problem. My recommendations generally also contain a brief summary on what SEO is, the basics of it, and the benefits of my recommendation to the achievement of the website’s goals - in layman’s terms.

So far, this process has been quite effective. How about you? How do you deal with those traditionalists or offline marketers?

When I was a freshman in college I was surprised to find out that I’ve been having insomnia. Being in the university means living in a dorm. I first thought that it could be due to the adjustment period from house to a dorm. Then again, I’m not the type of person who gets homesick. Consequently, I was at a loss on what’s causing my insomnia.

Then my roommate Carmela, told me to check my vitamins intake. It just might have an effect on my sleep pattern. So what I did was temporarily stop taking my multivitamins and observe. Guess what? I did start sleeping better! Soon I was returning to my normal sleep pattern.

Having multivitamin supplements is very important in ones diet especially nowadays where pretty much everything we eat is not enough to sustain our daily needs. Then again, it’s very important to check which type of multivitamins will work for us. As always, what works for one, may not work for the other.

Being in my mid-twenties I have been doing some research on the best way to NOT get wrinkles. After all, its at this age where those unwanted lines starts appearing out of nowhere. Scary!

I’ve been website and blog hopping, and yes, I also read www.olayregenerist.org. However, I’m still not that satisfied with the information I’m getting. I’d like to read detailed user reviews and comparisons on the top products in the market. If there’s anyone who knows a good site where I can get those type of information, then please post a comment here.

Thank God for adjustable straps

February 14th, 2010

My sister Ruth will be having a late 18th birthday celebration at the end of February. She already bought the clothes for that event last December and is quite worried that she might need weight loss diet supplements to be able to fit in those dresses in time for her birthday because she recently gained weight.

I had her try on the clothes she bought for the event just to make sure, and fortunately, she didn’t gain that much weight. Also, they apparently have adjustable straps which enabled her to still fit in the dresses perfectly. Now all we need is to setup the place for the event, and then we’re off to a fun videoke drinking party night!

So next time you buy clothes, expensive ones at that, I suggest you go for those that has adjustment straps to avoid worrying about fitting in it when you gain weight.
