Learning and Education Blog

About

This is a learning and education blog that tackles subjects that are related to, but not exclusive of, learning, education, personal growth, spirituality, literature, arts, society, school, books, and living.

Five decades had passed swiftly and in my golden years. I could still recall vividly my first days in school. Then, teachers still used the old method of teaching reading — start with the alphabet, syllables, words, phrases, and sentences. It was during these days that I learned how to read.

I was so happy that I can already read and even adjudged the best reader in class — reading with feelings they say. During this period in my life, I thought all things that were printed are true and scrutinizing the reading materials is never heard.

I was already in college when I experienced a paradigm shift. Now I no longer learn to read, but I read to learn. I need to learn not only the subjects I had to study, but most of all, I read to learn many things in life. According to Frederick Harrison, “Of all man, perhaps the book lover needs most to be reminded that man’s business here is to know for the sake of living, not to live for the sake of knowing.”

Do you want to be successful in your life? Make learning a habit. Read, read and read. Most of all read the most important book, the best manual of instructions for day to day living – the Bible (Qu’ran). Thus, your reading will truly maketh you a full man.
