A friend of mine asked me to review the Chimei 24EH monitor because she was very interested on buying it. The brand is not very well known in the US, but Chimei is one of the largest manufacturers of LCD’s in the world. This company supplies LCD to Dell, Samsung, and other well known LCD brands. Anyhow enough with the intro, on to the good stuff.

Just a sort of warning: I did the testing and review personally using my sister’s Chimei 24EH LCD monitor. I will review this not from the technical specs but based on what I personally think about this monitor.

The looks:
At first glance, without looking at the brand, this LCD is sleek, simple, and elegant. The thin glossy borders accents its beautiful LCD panel. The stand looks nice, although not that great. Good thing it is compatible with plasma mounts. Turning on the monitor, a blue LED lights the bottom part of the border, giving it a very classy, expensive look. Overall, this is a good looking LCD for its cheap price.

The LCD:
The panel is 23.6 inches viewable capable of displaying 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. I tried using my bluray on this monitor and it was astounding. It really is FULL HD. A 1080p movie will certainly look very nice on this one. The colors are vivid, and contrast is very high, with minimal amount of bleeding during dark scenes. Even looks better than my Samsung 2333sx monitor.

In summary, I highly recommend this monitor for those who are budget conscious yet very keen on display quality. This is really a bang for the buck monitor.
