TOA is an acronym of “Transfer Of Affection”.
In general, there is just so much that our brain can process. And when time comes that you feel like your head’s about to burst with too much thinking, the natural treatment for depression is getting your mind off what’s bothering you. So if, for example, you’re depressed with your work, your TOA will be to go have fun with your friends after work to de-stress. Something that will keep your mind off work (so definitely do not engage in another activity related to work); and perhaps afterward, with a relaxed state, you will be able to think more clearly and be able to solve this problem.
Do keep in mind that TOA is just temporary; something to relax your mind to be able to have a better perception at your current situation. At the end of the day, you still need to find the root cause of your problem, and deal with it.
