I personally agree that not all of us are ready for the change. Most families still have their analogue TVs at home which are not ready to receive digital signals. While set-top boxes are available to interface the old TV with the new signal, many complain that the devices are too technical for them. But since the government’s plan is pushing through (and it leaves us no choice), I suggest that people just buy LCD HDTV ’s instead. They are much cheaper now, around $200 for a 22-inch TV. Yes, it may seem a lot more expensive compared to the traditional CRT TV’s but long term savings will compensate for this. LCD TV’s are more robust, and requires less electricity than the old TV’s.

I actually bought my own 24-inch last week and I could say that I’m happy with it. It takes up less space than a big TV with a set-top box and it’s much nicer to look at. Not to mention zero space for rats to occupy.
