I recently met up with my high school friend Cristy. I haven’t seen her in years because she was busy training in the Air Force. When I saw her, my jaw dropped. She was looking very chic.
I’ve been living in camps for 21 years and the female military populace there was generally brusque and boyish. Thank God she’s one of the few exemptions. I guess coming from an all-girl high school cannot easily be brushed off. Hehehe.
Anyhow, we got into talking and I noticed her flashy watch with lots of functionality – some of which I cannot even decipher. She promptly indulged me and went into an animated discussion of pilot watches, Torgoen watches in particular. She said there are different types of pilot watches in the market which be used to calculate time, distance and speed equations. Most can perform a variety of calculations from currency conversions to multiplication and division problems, and even provide conversion of linear nature with a constant ratio such as miles to kilometers and other functions. Some are also water resistant up to 330 feet.
Cristy exasperatedly shared that a lot of people purchase those expensive watches but do not actually understand what those other circles and buttons are for. In general, she suggests just selecting a watch that you can really use, and not just to show off. I completely agree.
